With a Little Help From My Friends: 5-5-12

With a Little Help From My Friends

Joe Cocker

Pivotal Song Quote

Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
And I'll try not to sing out of key.

Time In My Life

Who doesn't remember the "Wonder Years" TV show and its theme song!? This song makes me remember every muggy summer evening in grade school back in Western Pennsylvania when I would high tail it home at dusk to watch Fred Savage's life play out as Daniel Stern narrated his life. I always enjoy hearing it because it was a time when life was simple and having fun was free!

My Take:

True friends aren't a commodity that are traded on the New York City Stock Exchange. They aren't haggled over or bargained for. They aren't found at the bottom of the ocean in a treasure chest or on a deserted island buried under a gigantic X.
True friends are a wealth worth far more than dollars or cents. They offer the advice you don't want to hear but know you need to. And of course they can get you by with a joke and even higher high with a toke when you need it.

  2. I know exactly where Meadville is - I had a friend that went to Allegheny College - visited her a few times. Also - real close to Erie, PA. Been there for football games. Nice area!
